Having grown up in Russia, Poland, Finland, Belgium and the Netherlands, I have always been fascinated with language. After completing a PhD in linguistics from Leiden University, I worked for a number of years as a lecturer, editor, translator and free-lance writer, until I discovered my passion: writing and helping other people to free their inner writer.

Whether the writing in question is a business proposal, a legal document, a scientific article, a piece of journalism or a ten-volume novel, I am fascinated by the discrepancy between how effortlessly people express their ideas in speech, with conviction, clarity and grace, and how difficult they sometimes find it to transfer this grace to the page. In my writing trainings, whether aimed at groups or individuals, I focus on increasing awareness of this discrepancy, and providing specific and powerful tools for bringing the ease of speech to your writing.
