My father came from Norway, my mother is English - Swiss and I was born and raised in The Netherlands. French came later when I studied and worked in French Switzerland. I learned German when I moved to Germany and lived and worked there for 7 years. I taught Norwegian to business people from Germany and that is how I developed my love for teaching. My teaching style is fun, creative, practical and positive. It is not about the mistakes, but about what went right! Confidence and motivation help you along in the learning trajectory. Communication is the most important thing. Correct and clear pronunciation helps, so I spent a lot of time practicing that. Grammar is necessary, but not the most important thing for communicating.
In addition to my work as a language teacher I do tours in The Mauritshuis, famous for its collection of 17th century Dutch art. I will take you on a tour if you want. The courses are tailor-made especially for you! |
Because of my multi-national background I am familiar with the mentality, humor and traditions of the people from North Western Europe. I was raised in three languages: Norwegian, English and Dutch.
